First Father's Day

My boys on Father's day.

I love this picture! It is within an hour of meeting our son for the first time.

We had such a great Father's day this year. We visited with Justin's Dad and then we had my whole family over for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday and Father's day. Justin and I have the best Dad's in the world. I just want to thank them for being such great Dad's and Grandpa's. Justin is still a daddy's boy and I love it! (although I don't think he would say that, but believe me he is!)
I am going to TRY to not make this too cheesy here but it might be hard. Justin I just want to thank you for being the Father that I always wanted for my kids. Jackson adores you. Seeing his face light up when you walk in the room or hears your voice on the phone melts my heart. Thanks for being such a hands on daddy and loving us like you do. Watching you be a father has made me fall in love with you all over again. We love you!

13.1 miles

I ran my first 1/2 marathon on Saturday morning! It was so much fun I think I might be addicted. Although, I am walking like I am ninety years old right now. I did it in 2 hrs and 4 min. I was hoping for 2 hours but close enough. The race started at 5:30 A.M. and my sweet husband and baby woke up at 4:00 to take me so I didn't have to take the shuttle bus, and wake up at 3:00. It was so fun to see Justin and my little trainer, aka Jackson, at the end of the finish line cheering me on. I take Jackson running with my sometimes and whenever I stop he looks back at me and gives me a look like get goin' mom. That is why I call him my little trainer he keeps me on track. My next race is in September and this time I am going to attempt the full marathon. I am pretty nervous about it after feeling like I was going to throw up after just the half, but I am doing it anyway. I know, it makes no sense, but those of you who run can understand my love/hate with the sport.

Busy Little Boy!

I am not sure when my baby turned into a little boy but it has happened. He is crawling all over the place looking at anything he can get in to. The other day he discovered how to get in our bathroom and turn on the bathtub water. He was so proud of himself I had to take a picture. We have learned to keep that door shut but if he ever sees it open he makes a run for it. He is my little helper at my feet all day. He especially loves to help me do the dishes. He is wanting to feed himself all the time now and it is such a mess. He has so much fun rubbing it all in his curly hair. He is such a fun active little boy. He still is not too active to give us hugs yet. He will be crawling all over and he will come over to us, want a big hug ,and then wants to get down again. Of course Justin and I absolutely love it, and can't get enough of his hugs!

Taking the plunge

I did it! I took the plunge and finally set up our family blog. At first I thought blogs were for other people. Now I look at it as a great way to document our lives. I am loving being a new mom to our beautiful 10 month old little boy and I don't want to forget a moment of it. So here I am starting to write it all down.
Here is a quick recap of the last year and I will go into more detail in future posts. As many of you know we have struggled with infertility for about five years now and last August we were finally able to become parents thanks to Jackson's amazing birth parents and the miracle of adoption. It has truly been the best year of my life. I have such a testimony of adoption. I feel so blessed to be Jackson's mommy I can not soak in motherhood enough. I am still a little surprised that I am starting a blog but I am excited to start this new journey.
